Riding for the Disabled Association
As the title really
Apart from money - which of course all charities need
what's on your Help shopping list?
Help is needed with usual yard duties like mucking out, tack cleaning, sweeping, grooming, tacking up etc etc.
Leading and side helping in lessons.
Gardening, handy man jobs - like mending toughs , fencing and other bits and bobs.
Cleaning - hoovering etc.
Computers - if you good at putting in data or helping to set up a data base etc etc....
The list really is never ending!
Any help is great - everyone is different and so can bring many skills to the centre.
Oh yeah - an artistic streak is always good too - lots of dressing up and imagination required!
I forgot to mention FUNDRAISING!!!
One of our biggest outgoings is the shoeing bill every 7 weeks - usually around £700 a time!
Also we do have a long shopping list -
Ponies - have a look on the Pony Criteria page to find out what we are looking for.
Hydraulic Mounting system - costing between £10,000-£15,000.
Re-fencing & eventual resurfacing of outdoor school - 20mX40m.
We really need a new tractor (or 2ndhand) to do all field work and shifting muck, hay & bedding etc.
As you can see it really is never ending!!!
Running costs are always hard to receive funding for - paying feed bills, shoeing, vets etc.
Our latest project is to install a new hydraulic mounting system near to our new building. It can be set at an exact height for each individual rider - Making getting on so much easier for those in wheelchairs and needing extra help.
It comes in at an approx cost of £15000!
